Economic Development

 

Municipalities, organizations and individual business owners can be assisted in economic development activities. The activities must primarily benefit low and moderate income persons - either as a community or as employees.

TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE     Funding is available for training and technical assistance to help lower income persons own and operate a successful business.  

ASSETS offers a 13-week evening training program for persons starting small businesses.  ASSETS provides mentoring, refresher seminars and other support. Training and mentoring are provided through local business owners and professionals.

Community First Fund provides technical assistance to obtain financing to start or expand small businesses.


DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION     Technical assistance is available to assist municipalities and local non-profit business organizations to improve and revitalize low and moderate income communities' business districts.
