Report of the Executive Director: Mr. Sternberg presented the Section 8 Voucher Utilization Report, noting that the Authority had closed the utilization gap to 97.8% but the year end numbers were not available because of the controller’s absence due to a death in the family. He also stated that there was one referral from the State for their Relocation Rental Assistance program. Teresa Danforth, Tenant Services Director, reported that there will be two Family Self Sufficiency sales, one in January and one in February. (These are Section 8 clients who purchase a home by going through the FSS program that is contracted out to Tabor Community Services).
Financial Report: Report not available because of controller’s absence due to a death in the family.
Nominating Committee Report: Mr. Sternberg recommended that the Board extend the terms of officers from the previous year – on an interim basis – until a replacement is appointed in place of Mr. Murray whose term expired. The motion was made by Ms. Fletcher, second by Mr. Fisher and unanimously accepted. Ms. Stewart noted that usually both Housing and Redevelopment Board-terms coincide. She stated that the Commissioners appoint Board Members to 6-year terms and she further invited people in the audience to submit names of interested parties to Mr. Sternberg with the goal of increasing the diversity of the Board and also its geographical representation from County areas to the north, south or east.
