Congratulations, Ken!!

When Ken Wiest decided to leave his position as Controller of the Lancaster County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities after over twenty years, “retirement” was the very last thing on his mind.

Besides spending more time with his wife Mary, five children and   eight grandchildren, Ken is maintaining a schedule of activities and good works that guarantees he won’t be sitting in the proverbial rocking chair for a long time to come.

For the past seven years, Ken has been voluntarily serving as a licensed minister for Trinity E. C. Church, a small congregation in Womelsdorf, PA in Berks County.  During this time he has concentrated on building the attendance for Sunday services.  He is currently attending the Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown to attain a Master of  Divinity degree, at which time he will become an ordained minister.

In addition, Ken is continuing to remodel his home, volunteering his time at his denomination’s international headquarters’ conference center, by helping there with the financial aspects and serving as chair of the Finance Committee there.

So thank you, Ken, for all your years of service to the Authorities, and good luck trying not to get too bored!

Text Box: In all the years that Ken Wiest served as sole Controller for the Housing and Redevelopment Authorities, there was never an audit finding and the HUD financial reviews were always clean.
As an example of Ken’s dogged determination, he completed his work in Organizational Management in 2003, and thus, earned  the Bachelor’s Degree he began in 1957.
